This is the board build for a big guy. Equipped with a wider waist and packed with power this freestyle board lets you show off your freestyle flair without toe drag. Storm all over the mountain and backcountry with the Skunk Ape board. Its profile gives you a blend of camber and rocker for pop in the park, float in powder and edge control whilst carving. The construction of this board keeps it lightweight, to you don’t get an achy foot on the chair lift. There is no need to worry above your edge slipping with the Skunk Ape as it features Magne-traction serrated edges, biting into hardpack and ice.

  • Snowboard type: All mountain/ freeride
  • Snowboard ability: Intermediate to advanced
  • Shape: Directional twin shape. The twin aspect to this board gives you the freedom of be creative on the slopes, spin, jib around and ride switch. The nose is floaty whilst the tail is packed with power
  • Wide: This wide board is best suited to guys with a UK snowboard boot size 10.5+. A wider waist prevents toe drag and improves your edge transfers
  • Flex: Medium - firm flex, rated 7/10. This flex level gives you a balance of response and forgiveness, ideal for all mountain riding
  • Profile: C2. This profile is a rocker and camber hybrid. Short rocker in the centre with camber underfoot. Rocker between the bindings adds float in powder and edge hold on hardpack. Camber underfoot adds pop and power to the board, camber increases the contact length to give you maximum edge hold and stability.
  • HP construction:
  • Core: 60% aspen and 40% paulownia. Two strands of paulownia run the length of the board surrounded by aspen. This creates a lightweight yet durable core
  • Fiberglass: Tri-Ax/ Bi-Ax and Basalt. Bi-Ax fibreglass increases the strength of the core without effecting the flexibility, whilst Tri-Ax decreases torsional twist to create a more responsive board
  • Top sheet: Eco sublimated poly top
  • Base: Eco sublimated TNT base is a low maintenance base that retains wax well to keep you gliding faster and for longer
  • Sidewalls: Internal Birch sidewalls run along the length of the board along the toe and heel edge whilst UHMW sintered sidewalls run along the outside. These sidewalls increase the strength and response of the board. UHMW within the nose and tail deflect impact for a smoother ride
  • Magne-traction 7 serrations along the edge give you maximum edge hold on ice and hardpack snow. This edge gives you confidence going into sketchy terrain

Eco manufacturing: Lib-Tech boards are made in the Mervin factory in the USA. This factory is the most environmentally friendly factory which is powered with wind and water. The materials have carefully been selected to create an eco-board, made using renewable wood, low voc resin and bio topsheet. During the process of making the snowboard the Mervin factory uses water-based inks and sublimation. Plus, the final coating is no toxic, so it doesn’t run into our water streams and cause damage to the environment. It’s evident that climate change is having an impact on the mountain environment, so with a Mervin factory board to can reduce your carbon footprint whilst still enjoying a well man board which is going to give you a fun ride down the mountain.
