Construction: Alpha fins are made from moulded carbon fibre infused with air, resulting in incredible performance and a resilient, lightweight construction. Alpha's strength meant Futures were able to remove material the tip for more spring and a livelier feel, then add it to the base for better drive. Meanwhile water flow is more efficient and predictable thanks to the "3D flow texture".
Futures Ride Number: 5.5 (1 = maximum speed control in pumping surf, 10 = maximum speed generation when pumping in weak surf, i.e. this is a balanced fin and a solid all-rounder)
Suitable Conditions: Big, small, and anything in between – the John John 2 Alpha makes a great everyday fin and can cope with all conditions
This is the same template that JJF rode to rode to world-title glory in 2016 and 2017, and has been a global best-seller since its initial release
The user-friendly flat foil (or inside surface) provides control and stability, helping you hold on to those critical late drops
We also have this fin in the stiffer Techflex construction – John John's preference – but JJF is a big, powerful surfer who likes surfing big, powerful waves. The Alpha version has a slightly higher Rider Number, and will help you generate more speed
All Alpha products are designed and manufactured exclusively in Huntington Beach, California
